One hole, the way the book plays it

Hole 1 from the TPC Harding Park book, taken from the pages themselves.
- THE PLAY
- Driver left-center. Wedge past the bunker to the middle; take the birdie look from there.
- WHY
- There are no fairway bunkers. Cypress is right, and the left side gives a slightly downhill look at the green.
- AVOID
- Short-right, where the large bunker sits.
- MISS
- Left or pin-high left. Long-left is fine.
- BIG NUMBER
- Right under the cypress, then short-right sand.
Source: TPC Harding Park Tour Caddie Blue Tees, pages 14–16. Blue tees; scratch-player framing. Schematic, not surveyed.
Why buy a book
- 01Know where the double bogey lives.
- 02Driver isn't always the aggressive play.
- 03A game plan for all 18.
